Knight In White Armor

Knight In White Armor

KNIGHT IN WHITE ARMOR

Psalm 18: 6-19

I saw it–it was but a dark figure off shore;

The waves were calming, more rhythm than roar.

With rocking motion my weary heart lulled;

As I saw white light from the dark figure unfold—

Like a Knight in white armor.

The moon was full—but my life was night;

Dressed in white linen, pure white linen,

Like a Knight in white armor.

My heart went now into rhythm with the horse,

The waves went silent.

The Knight was larger I could see His face,

His eyes set on me.

I moved to the shore as His distance grew shorter,

Only meaning to see-

The horse galloped faster, he looked fierce and wild;

I saw His Hands on the mane as He rode.

And the Knight came to me,

Arms, Everlasting enveloped me,

And without wings the horse took flight.

On to a broad place, secured and delivered,

He cuddled me close and turned His horse round;

Taking me far from what laid me down,

I finally breathed.

The Son of God wishes to be,

Called out in the night by you and by me;

Like a Knight in white armor.
